Service Area Mechanic (SAM)or SAM Trainee 1

Responsible for the maintenance and operation of all buildings and Authority owned equipment at an assigned service area complex.

Salary Range:
From $18.32 to $28.24 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Journey-level SAM (Equivalent to grade 12):
Possession of a valid New York State Class D Driver License or an equivalent license issued by another state. (Candidates must obtain a CDL-B License with no air brake restriction within the probationary period); four years of experience in the facilities maintenance, mechanical and/or electrical trades, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. (or some combination of same); possession of the appropriate Department of Environmental Conservation Wastewater Treatment Certificate for the plant at which the candidate will be working. SAM Trainee 1 (Equivalent to Grade 10):
Possession of a valid New York State Class D Driver License or an equivalent license issued by another state (candidates must obtain a CDL-B License with no air brake restriction within 12 months of the appointment date); possession of a High School Diploma or GED; and three years of experience in the facilities maintenance, mechanical and/or electrical trades, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. (or some combination of same). Candidates must obtain the appropriate Department of Environmental Conservation Wastewater Treatment Certificate for the plant at which the candidate will be working during the probationary period in order to be advanced to the journey-level SAM. Failure to obtain the appropriate certificate will result in probationary termination.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
